What If I Don’t Have a Favorite Yet

Let’s quickly break everything down by taste, so you can try out those that might be up your alley.

Bitter:

  • Espresso
  • Doppio
  • Ristreto
  • Lungo
  • Americano
  • Café con Hielo
  • Black eye

Sweet:

  • Café noisétte
  • Cortado
  • Capuccino
  • Breve
  • Mocha
  • Cafe bombón
  • Flat white
  • Latte
  • Galão

Bittersweet:

  • Macchiato
  • Café creme
  • Dry capuccino
  • Affogato
  • Mocha breve
  • Con panna

So if you haven’t been drinking coffee for that long then here’s how to choose:

Learn which is your taste preference and go to your local coffee shop. Order something from the list, then bottoms up. If it tasted good and made your insides tingle then you have found the one. If not, then rinse and repeat. (Yes, it can take a while, but trust me, it’s worth it!) Although, you might not even be able to find your favorite among these, as they are all made from espresso and don’t fit everyone’s taste. But that’s okay, you can still find one you enjoy right here. Take a look at “How to Make the Perfect Espresso” for instructions on making espresso at home.

Reminder: you can’t tell the exact amounts from the pictures. But these drinks usually don’t even have a set recipe, so you would still only be getting “something like” what has been described here.

The Taste Will Still Depend on Other Things

There are a lot of things you need to take into account when you want to find your favorite espresso drink and you need to be aware of all of them.

For example, if you have a problem with the consistency, but not the taste, then you can make some changes. For example, you can use cream or milk that has more fat in it. Or less. Depends on how thick you want your drink. Looking to try to make your coffee taste good without creamer? Then, check out “How to Make Coffee Taste Good Without Creamer“.

But if your drink is way too sweet for your liking, even though it’s almost perfect then you can make one with unsweetened cream or milk.

But we can do the same with milk. You can try out ones that have a different amount of cocoa in them. The more cocoa, the bitter the chocolate. But you can even try out some white chocolate. Check out “6 Different Types of Espresso Drinks You Need to Try” for a list of espresso drinks you should not miss out on.

And once again, you can also mess around with your vanilla ice cream. It can be fat-free, sugar-free, anything you like. Or it can even be blended with another taste with some chocolate chips sprinkled on top. Whatever works for you.

This guide is here to help you make some coffee. But only you will be able to make one that fits your tastes completely, so don’t be afraid to experiment a little bit, even if the recipe wouldn’t let you. Thank you for reading with us!
